Stonesfield Primary School is situated in beautiful, stone walled grounds at the centre of the quiet yet vibrant and attractive village of Stonesfield. It is at the heart of village life. The community, and the people in it, are seen as a valuable educational resource. The children go out in to the village as part of their studies: they look at plans of the village and at the buildings in it, visit the local shops and observe the wildlife and river formation.
Stonesfield Pre-School was established in 1968 and is a voluntary sector group managed by a committee of parents and carers. The pre-school is located in a village in rural Oxfordshire and the intake of children is mainly from families living locally. The group rents premises from a community trust and they have use of a playroom, kitchen, toilet facilities and enclosed outdoor play area. They also have office space situated adjacent to the main building.
