Charlbury Street Fair Weekend - ’60 Years – Britain at its Best’
The main purpose of Street Fair (14th- 16th Sept 2012), whilst entertaining visitors and locals alike, is to raise money for the upkeep of The Corner House and the War Memorial Hall, the two community buildings that play such an important part in the lives of so many people in and around Charlbury. Street Fair has taken place in Charlbury since the early 1950s and this year we are extremely pleased to announce that actor Tom Ward of BBC’s Silent Witness has kindly agreed to carry out the formal opening at 2pm on Saturday 15th Sept.
6:30pm - Egg Throwing Competition outside the Rose & Crown, Church Street, Charlbury
1:30pm – Children’s Fancy Dress Competition on the Playing Close, Charlbury
1:45pm – Children’s Parade from the Playing Close to Church Street
2:00pm Grand Opening by ‘Silent Witness’ star Tom Ward and our own Street Fair King and Queen – Finn Hustler and Molly Watson
2:00pm to 5:00pm – Afternoon entertainment including:-
Fairground Amusements & Rides
Children’s Electric Go-Karts
Tina’s Dance Troupe
Vintage and Classic Cars
Charlbury Fire Engine

5:00pm – Grand Auction
5:30pm – Giant Conga with Horns of Plenty
7:00pm – Evening Entertainment – Music, singing and dancing in Church Street, with local bands - Sam John & The Disciples – Jady Mirror – Stonesfield Village Idiots
10:30am - 10K Run and 5K Fun Run or Walk through Glorious Cornbury Park by kind permission of Lord & Lady Rotherwick.
