Stonesfield is within the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty; about 12 miles north west of Oxford, between Witney, Woodstock and Charlbury. This charming village is in easy reach of the M40 and is just a few miles away from railway stations (Charlbury or Long Hanborough) with direct train services to London.

The architecture in the village features many old Cotswold stone properties (roofed with locally-mined slate) mingled with late 20th Century buildings, and several properties in construction.

At the centre of Stonesfield stands the 13th century church of St. James the Great, its bell tower clearly visible above the surrounding buildings. There’s also a Methodist chapel.

The village has a thriving community with excellent facilities for its population of around 1500. Shops include a hairdresser and general stores. There’s a primary school and pre-school. Lively clubs and societies regularly use the Village Hall, the Sports and Social Club, and St James' Centre.
